Donuts
2 cups scalded milk (heat milk to boiling point approx 3 mins in microwave)
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons yeast
4 eggs (beaten)
7 cups sifted flour

Glaze
3 cups powdered sugar (to make powdered sugar put sugar in blender for a few pulses)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup cold water

Melt butter in hot milk, add 1 tsp sugar and salt. Allow to cool.
You must wait till the milk has cooled before proceeding or the yeast will not rise.
Beat in yeast, eggs, remaining sugar, and 3 cups flour. Use a dough hook on your mixmaster or beat with a wooden spoon.
Add rest of flour (dough will be sticky).
Knead for 5 minutes then allow to rise for 1-1 1/2 hours.
Roll out dough, cut into shapes should make 48 donuts. (refer below)
Do not re-roll dough, then allow to rise for 30-45 minutes.

When doughnuts have doubled in size, heat oil to 185°

Transfer 2-3 at a time to the oil. (Lift doughnuts gently when transfering) so they do not collapse.
Fry 1 - 2 minutes on each side or until brown.
To test the oil you can gently toss in the donut holes first, let those cook, and then cook the donuts.

Let them cool on a paper towel - helps get the glaze to stick.

The easiest way to make the donuts is to cut them out with a cookie cutter then use a soft drink bottle lid to cut the hole. Make sure you dip the cutters in flour for each new cut.

Alternatively make donuts for filling later (don't cut out the holes)

Mix together ingredients for glaze.
Heat in Microwave for 30 secs
Dip in warm glaze.

Full Donut filling suggestions

I would suggest that would be 365 degrees fahrenheit, which is 185 degrees celsius. Don't try to heat up a fryer to 365 celsius, it would be a shame to lose you.
