Considering they are now knocking T3 out of the series, re-imagining it with the sarah conner chronicles....do you have an opinion on which one was "the best one"?
I still enjoy the original the best...the second one was conclusive but the third, while fun, was just to over the top....

hmm - got to say I liked 2 the best - I'm a special effects eye candy drooler. Hence why TNG was the first star trek I actually followed. Kirk purists can slang me all they want - I just couldn't get with the fake toy spaceship in the originals !!
On the other hand T3 was such a washed out story line that I was disappointed to have paid to get into the cinema.
for me T2 FTW

Gotta agree with Auki -- T2 was better than T1 for me. Haven't seen T3, so this is only going on available data.
While T1 had the bonus of not too much dialogue for Arnie, the rest of T2 makes up for this in my opinion. :D
"Crazy Sarah" was also a bonus -- seemed a more realistic 'hero' (in terms of ability to stand up to the Terminators) than the Sarah Connors in T1.
Too many other small things also added to my like of T2; still, T1 wasn't that bad either.

lolol - have to admit its a shakespearean script longer than his voiced parts in conan the barbarian !

The 1st movie was doing OK up until the stop motion sequences at the end with the fully mechanical Terminator. It kind of spoiled the whole atmosphere of the movie.
It's not that I'm particularly partial to new or old SFX but it has to be believable , or it just degenerates into a comedy :)

I would have to say the second one was the best. Too be honest i was actually quite scared of the first Terminator, then again i was quite young to be watching movies like that. But second one was the best, i felt third one was just an action movie.
Plus dont you think it was touching when the terminator did the thumbs up at the end as he was dying :'( I cried.

Depends what you were going for
T1: Better story line, and creepy atmosphere. Almost a depressive vibe to the whole movie, like a sci-fi drama.
T2: Brilliant special effects for the time, good characters, and the extended edition made much better sense of how the SkyNat and co learn
T3: Nice wrap up, and END to the storyline. Groovy comedic parts with that Poor shrink who's been in every Terminator movie. Ridiculous car chases, and general fun times.
For me, it was T3. It was a brain-out-the-window-just-watch-funky-explosions kinda movie. Just my scene woot

T1 was the best 'terminator' .
T2 was a better movie but he was a cuddly 'terminator' :)
T2 still one of the best movies ever IMO, dates pretty well

T2 for me too.... gotta love that liquid metal meets nitrogen meets hot metal works factory and there is the Truck surfing! wonder how a truck filled with Nitrogen would actually go doing that in real.....

how can anyone deny that Terminator 2 was the best out of all 3 movies.
terminator 1 was good and all. but its like there is the liquid metal dude in the second one.
and the third was good on CGI but seriously. the T3 was so superior that she would have destroyed the T101 in a second.

Interesting question.
I really like everything about T2. It really was the complete package. Damn you James Cameron. I admit to waiting for the big bang on August 29th, 1997.
I have to say though, it didn't scare me anywhere near as much as T1. It could be that I was several years older when I saw T2, but it wasn't as terifying as T1.
It's probably not fair to compare the two films given the time difference between the two.
T1 could have really benefitted from some better special effects and some better editing - it is a little slow in places.
I was really disappointed in T3. I think they fell into the same trap as Pirates 3. They did all the same stuff that they have done before, only this time they did them over and over again.
