Hi all. The following are some recipe cards I designed for my second major Design assignment. I will be making 10 in all, but would like to seek the opinions of others before I go ahead with the rest. The cards will be about half an A4 sheet of paper in size and would be marketed from supermarket shelves and possibly stored in a small folder. The recipes also follow a theme of sweets. The first image is the front of the card and the second is the back.

If you have ANY suggestions at all, no matter how small or important, pleeease post them. They can only help!

those all look great, the only thing that caught my eye was the word 'cake' in the white-wedding cake on the back side of that particular card

It looks different, but not in a flawed way, it just looked a little standoutish.

I realise it is quite probably placed because of the butterfly wings in the pic? Hard for me to tell tho as I personally find it hard to judge balance without playing with it. Chances are its probably in the best place for it to sit already:)

Top effort - certainly looks very pro to me and infact its making me quite hungry LOL

wat's this for uni, or yr12?

looks pretty good, tho wouldn't it b better to have the company logo on the front side of the card, so that the audience sees the company name/identity/logo?

(i do yr12 vis communication and design, so ur prob better than me and dont have to take this on board since my semester design kinda sucked lol)

I'm doing year 12 design, and thanks for the advice. I was thinking of moving the logo there.

wow those are awesome scarlett, would it matter if the company logo was on the front AND back?

probably not, but it's good to have it on the front so the audience sees it and recognizes that brand.

In total: around 4 weeks.

About 10% of that time is actually designing the cards and putting them together - the rest is theory and backup work :S.

Yeah maddox suggested that earlier and I have placed the logo in the top right, so it looks like the title of the recipe reads "Archer's Wildberry Pie" or "Archer's White Wedding Cake".

that would work, but my untrained eye as a shopper thought they looked very scrumptious at any rate and nice presentation! I suppose the company would appreciate the logo in prime placement tho

o they luv it, nothing like picking up a pack mud cake with a delicious pic on the front and seeing "black and gold" on it and throwing it down the isle in disgust :P jks

Thanks to everyone for your input - you helped me finish my assignment! There's a section called 'evaluation' which involves me getting feedback and critique and acting upon some of it. Posting here made it a hell of a lot easier to get a variety of opinions and perspectives (and also to fill the evaluation section ;)). Thanks again.

I liked the company's name on the rear of the card.

I know squat about graphics and stuff, but I think that the front is for the "lookin" , and the rear for the "readin"
