The guys at Ducati Adelaide have been very good to me by emailing me pics of the build and today the beast was registered and this was the result before they went to the MVR.

The excitement peaked last week when i got the first round of pics and the sad news that the next chance of a bike crate would be Friday 19th. So the grey matter went to work (finally) and I checked out webjet for flights. Currently I will be heading to Adelaide on Sat 20th to ride up the first 1000 kms for the first service and then reluctantly hand the keys back so that the gents at Ducati Adeliade can service the missile and ship it up. So, currently 8 days to go and counting!!!!
Yeah. WiiFii, I am pretty stoked. You pay a fair bit of money for quality and this bike is currently meeting expectations. I am hoping that this will be blown away as I cruise through the Adelaide hills in spring weather trying very very hard not to push the revs above 5,500. But the good news for me is that once it is here I have 5,000 kms before the next service. I will have a chat to the guys when I get to Adelaide and see what the ETA is. I am hoping they have reserved a crate so that when I leave, they service it and ship it up ASAP - before the wet sets in :-)

Seeing as this is probably the first 1098 S Tricolore in the NT I reckon we should run an RA feature once you have it up here.
"300 reviews the 1098 S" .. pics ... video ... commentary. sound like a plan ?

Nah, the helmet has a tinted visor and that will do me. It works well too, the tinting that is.

After finding it rather tough riding and taking a pic at the same time. I am talking to Aukiman about getting some good pics together shortly. The bike is a dream to ride but is still being run in at the moment. I have been pretty good keeping it under 6000 rpm, but have been told that the power really turns on after 7,000. The tacho reads 13,000 as a maximum. However, there is enough low down power early on that I have accidentally pulled two wheelstands so far (and hopefully many more to come) :-)
So stay tuned to the bike thread and we will see if we can get some of the good stuff uploaded before the wet season hits!!

Hope ur getting in plenty of 'feel' for the bike 300 so we can write up a nice review on it. :)

I'd love a tri-colour. Was told it was a 12 month waiting list. I'll have to do with a black one. :(
I've only got a piccy of the termi's after I polished them up. I dropped it at Eastern Creek a few weeks ago, so maybe some nice pics when she's all fixed again.

Pic is off the phone. Went to a big carpark in sydney with other bikes for a photoshoot, but ended up getting locked in there by security guards and having the police come etc. Guards reckoned we were causing trouble.

Nice extras - good thinking on colour matching the clutch cover. Shiny pipes look the business!!!! Another happy customer

Had to do the pipes by hand. To say it took alot of time is a bit of an understatement. I took three days off work, plan was to polish one day, then go riding for a couple more. Ended up taking the entire 3 days, and 3 buffing discs. Clutch cover is from Italy. A friend found it over there and brought it home. And deleted mirrors are definately cool. Just not with the constabulary. The wheels have also been repainted in a high-gloss black. (the standard is only semi-gloss). The undertail is from Resart in Melbourne.
I only dropped it in the mud while riding through the carpark back to the trailer at the track. Cold slicks + mud = disaster. Just bad fairing damage, but there is zero repair parts available in Australia. I've got a set of glass ones on her now and they'll be the permanent track fairings from now on. Hard lesson to learn. Clearly, insurance companies are not sympathetic to track riders.
Good to see some 1098 riders. Although I secretly hate you for having a tri-colour. :P :P

Rode my friends new 848 yesterday.
Wow.
Very impressed.
Heaps easier to ride. Sounds good as well. He has a set of Termi Slip ons, and the sound is just beautiful. It's very similar sounding to my old 996. Also, the pearl white looks amazing. And at 23k, it's going to be a popular alternative. Now to convince the missus she "needs" one for herself.

Ha Ha good one Vader. Have been flat out for a while so I have been around looking at the site. I love the look of the white 848s and if I had not got what I did, I would have been lining up for one of those. Did you get your 1098 shirt from NF Importers??
