Well i thought that i would show you my new project.

Ive had the car since i was sixteen and am now going to give the old girl a paint job.

The car is a 1966 Mk1 Ford Cortina.

These cars won bathurst in 1965 and 1966.

I havnt decided on the colour yet (maybe you could help).

Im not going to modify the car like the RX2, i just want it nice and simple for a daily driver.

I will keep you posted of the progress as i go.

I have already taken the bonnet off and stripped the engine bay to get ready to paint.

I hate painting engine bays. :mad:

Here is a shot of the interior, i need to re-do the inside as well, i think that i might get a original bench seat to put back in her, that way you can have to chicks in the front. :hithere:

ps i hear th b16 a is a good motor for teh vtak, are you going to teh teh rare front wheel drive conversion ?

Well i finished the Engine Bay over the weekend.

I spent 14 hours on Saturday, a friend spent 8 hours with me,

Sunday i spent 6 hours to gives a total of 28 hours on the Bay.

I went to take pictures of the process but the camera shat its self.

Anyway here is the engine bay now.

Shit, if I spent 28 hours on the Bay, I would at least walk away with some RAM and a pair of jeans!! :-p

Well, i was a little sick over the weekend, but still managed to get some work done.

I swapped the cross member over, so now i can put the motor in.

I also continued with the paint stripping process, what a nightmare it is.

Can i let you know that you never want to do paint stripping. EVER.

Here is a shot of how clean the metal is, each Guard so far has come up so clean, i cant believe it. The car is like brand new under neaf.

I am one happy camper, nowing how good the car is and its worth preserving.
