This is the biggest fish I have ever caught. I got it whilst backpacking in New Zealand and this is what gave me the fishing bug. Unfortunately, I have never caught anything this big again.

The weight was 24 pounds.

Tasted yummy. I was travelling solo, but brought it back to the backpackers and fed the whole place. It was great. Showed off to some Canandians who were bragging the day before when they had come back with their somewhat "smaller" catches.

ahhh, you're getting me all syked up to go fishing Mels, how far offshore was that caught?

It was about an hour from shore at the Bay of Islands, NZ
