View Full Version : Can't Upgrade to Vista with Alcohol120%

HELP!

I have been trying to upgrade my home PC to windows Vista but it wont let me do the upgrade without removing Alcohol120%. I have removed it through control panel add/remove but the upgrade installer says it is still there grrrr

help please !

Hey Orsum,

unfortunately there isnt an easy clean method that I know for removing Alcohol120%.

If you go to your device manager you will see a device listed called "VAX347S SCSI Controller" You should uninstall this first. This is the virtual drive handler for Alcohol120%

Next to run regedit. Warning tho, dont do this unless you are confident in modifying your registry!

DELETE anything that corresponds to the value vax347b and then do the same again for anything that corresponds to vax347s

next reboot your PC and delete c:\windows\system32\vax347b.sys and c:\windows\system32\vax347s.sys

Now to make sure run your registry editor again search for alcohol and delete all entries.

As a final step make sure there is no alcohol folder in c:\program files\
The upgrade should be ok to perform now.

thats so cool I had the same issue, fixed now tho thanks Aukiman
