Was messing around with Zbrush a few months back. Ace program. Anyway, here's what I came up with...

Tell us what you think! It's a pretty high-res image, but not too big. There's some polygon issues around the forehead and no anti-aliasing, but it's only my 2nd try in the program, so be gentle!! lol

www.grandinferno.net is down atm. Server probs. Be back ASAP.

Sweet mate, the front view reminds a lot of the Rancor from Star Wars games.

At the stage I was doing that stuff, yerp, there was a downloadable demo.

I love the program. It's perfect for artists who want to do 3D modelling, and don't want to mess around for hours with polygons and the like... You just sculpt then paint.

It is like nurbs but it isn't.

You start with a basic geometric shape (in this case a sphere). You might have just say 100 faces. You then 'sculpt' it, using various tools to take bits out or push/mould bits. Then you just double the polygon count once each time you've done all you can with the previous stage. Repeat.

You can set mirror axis to get features even - ie. I only sculpted one side of the face and it automatically mirrors it to the other side.

Here's a better example of using the axis mirroring... This was my first Zbrush attempt... This was a bit more complex as, but probably more like nurbs. You have simple kinetics and build joints etc, then build the skin over the top. The last time I worked with nurbs was when they first 'came out' which was ages ago, so I can't REALLY compare the two.

I know this isn't the place, but I mentioned it at the start of the thread.

grandinferno.net is back up. Keep an eye out for new content in the coming weeks.

You can get a 30 day trial here: http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/trial/download/

Here's another piece I'm currently working on... Although I'm overkilling it with the poly count (and it's killing my PC too!) @ 2.1 mill.
