There isn't really any contest that Canon make the best sensors. If only the decision to buy was a simple as that!.

When you purchase a camera you also are buying into lens systems, Image Stabalisation systems, camera button layout and software configurations.

Great results are possible from all the camera makers as you can see, even from the images that get posted here ;) Photography only starts with the camera, the rest is up to the photographer.......It's a bit like saying to a cook "great food, you must have a really good oven"
