You can clearly see the centre of the Cyclone on the Darwin Radar now. This one is going to be close!

This is showing the cyclone is still approching Darwin - A little translation for non-aviation enthusiast - issued on the 4th at 1430 Zulu (midnight) wind direction is 310 degrees at 35 knots, gusting to 48 knots. Visibility is 5km, temperature is 27 degrees, dew point is 23 degrees. QNH 0996 (note QNH will continue to drop as the cyclone gets closer, as it moves away qnh will rise)
Scattered clouds at 2000 feet, Broken clouds at 8500 feet and light rain

well were actually an hour before the 04 / 18 Z point in the below pic ... which would explain the big knocking sounds coming from the window keeping me awake :p

got up early this morning to look at what the cyclone left us around my neighbourhood ... sorry for the pic quality, just took em thru the car windows as I was driving. Pretty tame as cyclones go, but still knocked plenty of stuff over :)
