INTERNET giant Google unveiled a new feature to its popular Google Earth application overnight, allowing users to view the night sky above and zoom in on far-away constellations and planets.

Also, stargazing in Darwin is much easier than in the other capital cities. In Melbourne we had to drive for 90 minutes to get away from light pollution. In Darwin, you can set up on the esplanade if you're looking over the harbour, or Berrimah for a full 360 degree view.
